a = (u - v) / t

where,

Substituting the given values, we get:

a = (20 - 0) / 10

Therefore, the retardation of the car is 2 m/s².

Retarding force:

Retarding force is the force that acts opposite to the direction of motion of a moving object and causes it to slow down or stop. It is given by the formula:

F = ma

where,

m = mass of the car

a = retardation


Substituting the given values, we get:
