Given:
Speed of boat in upstream = 40 km/h
Speed of boat in downstream = 60 km/h
Total distance cover in still water = 1250 km
Let, the time to cover 1250 km in still water by boat = x hr
Speed of the boat = ((60+40)/2) Km/h = 50km/h
According to the question,
50 = 1250/x
⇒ x = 25
∴ Time taken by boat to cover the distance in still water is 25 hrs.
Speed of boat in upstream = 40 km/h
Speed of boat in downstream = 60 km/h
Total distance cover in still water = 1250 km
Let, the time to cover 1250 km in still water by boat = x hr
Speed of the boat = ((60+40)/2) Km/h = 50km/h
According to the question,
50 = 1250/x
⇒ x = 25
∴ Time taken by boat to cover the distance in still water is 25 hrs.
