A, B and C are hydroxy-compounds of the elements X, Y and Z respective...
I think that A is the hydroxy compond of X and it is acidic because its ph is less than 7 so compond X must be of non metallic nature.Similarly C is the hydroxy compound of Z and C is basic so Z must be of metallic nature and also similar to above B is the hydroxy compound of Y and is amphoteric So X lie right in the periodic table and Y is left to XandZ is metallic so Z lie in the left of periodic table so BY this You can compare the electronegativity and size according to their position in periodic table

A, B and C are hydroxy-compounds of the elements X, Y and Z respective...
Explanation:

I) The three elements are metals:
- Aqueous solutions of metals tend to be alkaline, not acidic. Therefore, A cannot be a metal.
- B reacts with both strong acids and alkalis, which suggests it could be a metal.
- C gives an aqueous solution that is strongly alkaline, indicating it is likely a metal hydroxide.
- Therefore, at least one of the elements X, Y, or Z must be a metal.

II) The electronegativities decrease from X to Y to Z:
- In a period of the periodic table, electronegativity generally increases from left to right.
- Therefore, the electronegativity would likely decrease from X to Y to Z.
- This statement is correct.

III) The atomic radius decreases in the order X, Y, and Z:
- Atomic radius generally decreases from left to right across a period of the periodic table.
- Therefore, the atomic radius would likely decrease from X to Y to Z.
- This statement is correct.

IV) X, Y, and Z could be phosphorus, aluminium, and sodium respectively:
- Phosphorus is a non-metal, so it cannot be X.
- Aluminium is a metal and reacts with both strong acids and alkalis, so it could be B.
- Sodium is a metal and gives an aqueous solution that is strongly alkaline, so it could be C.
- Therefore, X, Y, and Z could be phosphorus, aluminium, and sodium respectively.

Conclusion:
- Statements II, III, and IV are all correct.
- Therefore, the correct answer is option (c) II, IV only correct.
