Verified Answer
The denominator of a rational number is 3 more than its numerator. If ...
Given:
Denominator of a rational number = 3 + Numerator
Calculation:
Let the numerator of the number = a
⇒ Denominator = a + 3
The number is a/(a+3)
Now, (a+7)/(a+3−2) = 2
⇒ (a+7)/(a+1) = 2
⇒ a+7 = 2a+2
⇒ a = 7−2 = 5
⇒ a = 5
∴ The required fraction = a/(a+3) = 5/8
