Verified Answer
Find the value of ‘a’, if (x - a) is a factor of (2x3&ndas...
If (x - a) is a factor of a polynomial f(x), then f(a) = 0
Putting a = 1, f(1) = 2(1) – 5(1) + 1 – 12 = –14
Putting a = 2, f(2) = 2(8) – 5(4) + 2 – 12 = –14
Putting a = 3, f(3) = 2(27) – 5(9) + 3 – 12 = 0
∴ The value of a = 3
