The Troposphere is the lower-most layer of the earth's atmosphere.
Most of our weather is there - clouds, rain, snow.
The temperature gets cooler in this part of the atmosphere as the distance above the ground increases by around 6.5° C per kilometer.
Depending on the weather, the real change in height and temperature varies daily.
There is about 75 percent of all the air of the atmosphere in the troposphere, and almost all the water vapour (which forms clouds and rain).
The decrease in height and temperature is due to the decrease in pressure.
