area of low rainfall

This has a reddish color due to a wide diffusion of iron in crystalline and metamorphic rocks.
It is suitable for crops like wheat, rice, cotton, sugarcane, and pulses.

Laterite Soil:

It developed in areas with
high temperatures
and
high rainfal
l.
Due to
high rainfall, lime and silica
leached away, and
iron oxide and aluminum
are left behind.

organic matters, nitrogen, phosphate, and calcium
it is
not suitable for cultivation
but applications of
fertilizers are required to make it fertile

Alluvial soil is mainly found in
Northern Plains.
These soils are widespread in the
Northern Plains and valleys.
They are depositional soils, formed mainly due to silt deposited by
Indo-Gangetic-Brahmaputra Rivers.
When the river overflows, this soil is deposited on the riverbanks.
In the Upper and Middle Ganga Plain, two types of alluvial soils have developed, namely, Khadar (New alluvium) and Bhangar (Old alluvium).
