A force of 20 N is applied on a body of mass 4 kg kept on a rough surf...
Given, force applied on the body, F = 20 N
Mass of the body, m = 4 kg
Coefficient of friction, μ = 0.1
Acceleration of the body, a = ?

We know that the force of friction, f = μN
where N is the normal force acting on the body.

The normal force, N = mg
where g is the acceleration due to gravity, given as 10 m/s2.

So, N = 4 × 10 = 40 N

The force of friction, f = 0.1 × 40 = 4 N

The net force acting on the body, Fnet = F - f
= 20 - 4
= 16 N

Using Newton's second law of motion, Fnet = ma
16 = 4a
a = 4 m/s2

Therefore, the acceleration of the body is 4 m/s2.

Hence, the correct answer is option B.
