Structure of the Atmosphere
The Earth's atmosphere is a complex layer of gases surrounding the planet, essential for life. It is divided into several layers, each with distinct characteristics.
1. Troposphere

4. Thermosphere
- This layer ranges from 85 km to 600 km above the Earth.
- It is characterized by a dramatic increase in temperature, which can reach up to 2,500°C or more.
- The auroras occur in this layer, and it is where the International Space Station orbits.
5. Exosphere
- The outermost layer of the atmosphere, extending from about 600 km to 10,000 km.
- It is where atmospheric particles are so sparse that they can escape into space.
- Satellites orbit within this layer due to the minimal atmospheric drag.
