So, it's better to use Newton's second law of motion. s = ut + 1/2 at^2 s1 = 1/2 a1t1^2 So, t1 = √ ( 2s1/a1) Similarly, t2 = √ (2s2/a2) I hope you are understanding these algebraic calculations. That's the simplest and conceptual one. Now, let's go ahead at the last trivial step. Find the ratio t1/t2, we will be left with (√s1/a1)÷(√s2/a2) As, s1 = s2 So, we will be left with, √(a2/a1) But options are given in form of m1 and m2, So, no problem, Use the first equation a1 = F1/m1 and a2 = F2/m2 So, √a2/a1 = √ F2m1/F1m2, just by putting the values, Also we know F1 = F2 Cancelled and we got √ (m1/m2), That's the answer.
