Because when containers are changed the shape of liquid also changed in the container in which the liquid is kept , but the value remains constant... Suppose if one litre of milk is kept in a bowl, the shape of the container is semicircular but when we put that same milk of 1 litre in glass, the shape of the container will now be changed into frustum shape... So here volume is not changing just the shape is changing..
