N "a" is involved in aromaticity (resonance) and its lone pair is not readily available for protonation..

Aditi Sharma answered Jun 27, 2020
Nitrogen is in conjugation or resonance.

Ajit Yadav answered Sep 17, 2018
Because on protonating nitrogen indicated by a the aromaticity of that ring distroy

Akhil Palak answered Sep 13, 2018
Greater the electron density greater is the tendency to get protonated whereas the lonepair on nitrogen at A position is in conjugation with the πelectrons and availability is very less so tendency to get protonated is very less
