Difference between suspension ,solution and colloidal solution ?
Suspension is a heterogeneous mixture. In suspension the solute particle have the particle size greater than 100 nmA solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more substance.Colloidal solution is a heterogeneous mixture. In colloidal solution the size of partical lies in between those of true and suspension solution.

Suspension, Solution, and Colloidal Solution: Understanding the Differences

Suspension:
A suspension is a heterogeneous mixture in which solid particles are dispersed in a liquid or gas medium. The solid particles in a suspension are usually larger and more visible to the naked eye. These particles do not dissolve but rather remain suspended in the medium due to the force of gravity. Over time, they may settle at the bottom of the container, forming a sediment. Some common examples of suspensions include muddy water, sand in water, or chalk in water.

Solution:
A solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more substances, where one substance dissolves in another. The components of a solution are evenly distributed on a molecular or ionic level. Solutions can be formed between two liquids, a solid and a liquid, or a gas and a liquid. The substance that dissolves is called the solute, and the substance that does the dissolving is called the solvent. Solutions are usually transparent and do not have visible particles. Examples of solutions include saltwater (sodium chloride dissolved in water) or carbonated drinks (carbon dioxide gas dissolved in water).

Colloidal Solution:
A colloidal solution, also known as a colloid or colloidal suspension, is a heterogeneous mixture in which the particle size of the dispersed phase is intermediate between those of a solution and a suspension. The particles in a colloidal solution are larger than molecules but smaller than the particles in a suspension, making them too small to settle under the force of gravity. Instead, they remain dispersed throughout the medium. Colloidal particles can be solid, liquid, or gas, and they are evenly distributed throughout the solution. Colloidal solutions often exhibit a Tyndall effect, where the dispersed particles scatter light. Examples of colloidal solutions include milk (fat droplets dispersed in water), fog (liquid water droplets dispersed in air), or gelatin (protein molecules dispersed in water).

Summary:
- Suspension: A heterogeneous mixture with visible solid particles that do not dissolve but remain suspended in a liquid or gas medium.
- Solution: A homogeneous mixture where one substance dissolves in another, resulting in a transparent solution with no visible particles.
- Colloidal Solution: A heterogeneous mixture with intermediate-sized particles that are dispersed evenly throughout a medium, exhibiting the Tyndall effect.
