Yeah in the caSe of democracy , if you do have a proper goal and a 'political brain' you can 'hope' to win the elections .

Yes you can, but you need to start from the grassroot level like if you are in rural area you can contest for Pradhan election or if you are in urban area you can go for ward election.
Step 1. In case of rural area(Pradhan elections), people are opting young candidates rather than old one.(present condition)
Reasons :-
1. Educated
2. Know the technology
3. Have better way to solve problems
4. Age group of (18-30), mostly are your friends.
Here you don't have to spend penny. But you have to do the hard work like going to their homes and tell them what you can do for them.

Urban election, Don't know the situation of urban bodies so I can't answer that part. I don't know how elections are been conducted over there.

Step 2. You need to join a political party. Attend rallies, meeting, build your connection in the political front.
Ask the MLA to visit your village, organize a public meeting in your village. And try to get a package from MLA (as you know they have power to spend 1cr in their constituency where they want). If MLA is of your party then you can go for higher package.
And you must complete that thing in your tenure.

Step. 3. You have built the hype in 5yrs. Now you can go for block smiti election(in the group 2 or 3 adjoining panchayats).
If you won then there will be Chairman or vice chairman election between elected Bdc members of constituency. (you need majority, here you have to play politics. But if you are female then you play women empowerment card, if you are not then support reservations of women for chairmanship or vice chairman. By doing that you will have women on your side and then you can do the politics with men candidate.)

Then next 5 years work hard, your presence must be felt by everyone who have elected you.. Organise meeting, ask minister to come and visit because you are now president of Block.

Step 3. Next election go for zila parishad. Here you need support from your party.
Same chairman vice chairman election.
Do the hard work, implement schemes, visit your areas, don't sit at home.

Next election you can go for MLA tickets. Even if you party refuse to give you a ticket contest elections as Independent candidate.
And I i'm sure you will win Bcz you have built the public opinion in past 15 years. People will blindly vote for you.

Path is easy but it's lengthy. But if want to serve people then go for it buddy
