what is difference between golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum R...
Golgi Apparatus
Golgi apparatus is also known as the Golgi bodies or Golgi complex, which is a prominent organelle in a cell, especially in eukaryotic cells of both plants and animals. It is an arrangement of fluid filled discs covered by a membrane, which is exactly same as the cell membrane. The terms complex or apparatus being used on Golgi bodies because of that.

Golgi apparatus is considered as a part of the endomembrane system of cells, and it encases some of the important proteins and enzymes. Golgi complex performs the packaging of proteins prior to sending those to the targets, and the further processing those proteins take place inside Golgi bodies. Usually, the proteins that are produced at the rough endoplasmic reticulum being processed in Golgi bodies. These proteins being then sent for secretion. Each cell synthesize many different molecules through metabolism, anabolism to be exact, and those should be properly sorted, modified, packaged, and delivered to be functional in the right time at the right place; those vital steps are carried out by the Golgi apparatus. Golgi bodies are an arrangement of few fluid-filled dishes whereas ER is a network of tubules and vesicles.

Endoplasmic Reticulum

Endoplasmic reticulum is one very important structures in a cell, and there are two major types of it known as rough and smooth. Endoplasmic reticulum is often abbreviated as ER; hence, rough type is denoted as RER and the smooth type is symbolized as SER. RER comes with ribosomes present on the external surface, which gives it a rough appearance in the microscope, whereas SER has no ribosomes on its surface.
Difference
• Golgi apparatus sorts, modifies, and delivers the components in a cell, whereas ER is much a structurally aiding organelle for metabolic activities.

• The structure of ER is expanded inside the cell much more than the Golgi apparatus.

• Lysosomes are formed at the Golgi complex while the enzymes in lysosomes are synthesized at RER.

Golgi Apparatus:
The Golgi apparatus, also known as the Golgi complex or Golgi body, is a cellular organelle present in eukaryotic cells. It is responsible for processing, packaging, and distributing macromolecules, such as proteins and lipids, within the cell.

Endoplasmic Reticulum:
The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is another organelle found in eukaryotic cells. It is a network of membranous structures involved in the synthesis, folding, and transportation of proteins and lipids. The ER is divided into two regions: the rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER) and the smooth endoplasmic reticulum (SER).

Differences between Golgi Apparatus and Endoplasmic Reticulum:
Although both the Golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum are involved in the processing and transportation of macromolecules, they have distinct structures and functions. Here are some key differences between the two organelles:

1. Structure:
- Golgi Apparatus: It consists of a stack of flattened membranous sacs called cisternae. These cisternae are often arranged in a curved structure resembling a stack of pancakes.
- Endoplasmic Reticulum: It consists of a network of tubules and flattened sacs called cisternae. The ER is interconnected and extends throughout the cytoplasm of the cell.

2. Function:
- Golgi Apparatus: Its main function is to modify, sort, and package proteins and lipids into vesicles for transportation. It receives proteins from the ER and modifies them by adding sugars, lipids, or other molecules.
- Endoplasmic Reticulum: The rough ER (RER) is involved in protein synthesis and folding. It has ribosomes attached to its surface, giving it a rough appearance. The smooth ER (SER) is involved in lipid synthesis, detoxification of drugs, and storage of calcium ions.

3. Transportation:
- Golgi Apparatus: It receives vesicles containing proteins from the ER and modifies them. It then sorts and packages these proteins into new vesicles for transportation to their final destinations within or outside the cell.
- Endoplasmic Reticulum: The RER synthesizes proteins and transports them to the Golgi apparatus for further processing. The SER is involved in the synthesis of lipids and their transportation to other parts of the cell.

In summary, the Golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum are both essential organelles involved in the processing and transportation of macromolecules, but they have distinct structures and functions within the cell. The Golgi apparatus modifies, sorts, and packages proteins and lipids, while the endoplasmic reticulum is involved in protein synthesis, lipid synthesis, and transportation.

what is difference between golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum R...
The ER has several functions, one of which is folding and transporting proteins to the Golgi apparatus. Please note Golgi is capitalized. This is the surname of Camillo Golgi and is always capitalized.
The primary function of the Golgi apparatuses to process, modify, sort and package proteins and lipids (macromolecules) as they’re synthesized.
