The Correct order of CO vibrational stretching frequency in the follow...
Since the π-accepters attached to central metal cause the increase in the B.O. of CO, CO vibrational frequency increases. The order of π-acceptor is PF3 > PCl3 > P(OR)3 Therefore, order of vibrational stretching frequency is {P(OMe3)3} MO(CO)3 < (PCl3)3MO(CO)3 < (PF3)3MO(CO)3.
Correct option is (b)

The Correct order of CO vibrational stretching frequency in the follow...
The vibrational stretching frequency of CO depends on the electron-donating or electron-withdrawing nature of the ligand attached to the metal center. In general, the vibrational frequency decreases in the order of electron-withdrawing > neutral > electron-donating ligands.

In the given complexes, the ligands attached to the Mo center are PF3, PCl3, and P(OMe)3. Let's analyze the nature of these ligands:

- PF3: It is an electron-withdrawing ligand due to the electronegative fluorine atoms. It will decrease the CO vibrational frequency.
- PCl3: It is also an electron-withdrawing ligand, but less than PF3 due to the lower electronegativity of chlorine. It will decrease the CO vibrational frequency, but not as much as PF3.
- P(OMe)3: It is an electron-donating ligand due to the presence of methoxy (-OMe) groups, which have a positive inductive effect. It will increase the CO vibrational frequency.

Based on the above analysis, we can predict the order of CO vibrational frequency in the given complexes:

- (PF3)3Mo(CO)3: The most electron-withdrawing ligand, hence the lowest CO vibrational frequency.
- (PCl3)3Mo(CO)3: Less electron-withdrawing than PF3, but still decreases the CO vibrational frequency.
- {P(OMe)3}3Mo(CO)3: An electron-donating ligand, hence the highest CO vibrational frequency.

Therefore, the correct order of CO vibrational stretching frequency in the given complexes is III > II > I, which corresponds to option B.

The Correct order of CO vibrational stretching frequency in the follow...
PF3 is weak pi acceptor than co ...so it will accept electron from centeral metal (M0) so less electron will be shared b/w M-c so co bond order increase in all case in comparision of Mo(CO)6Now we have to check -i power of ..as -i power of florine is more than chlorine wo it will polarize the sigma electron density of phosphorous atom to greater extent than chlorine(dont see fajan rule..see electronic factor here) so making the phosphorous a weak sigma donor onthe other hand we can say it increases the pi acceptor capacity of phosphorous..as -i power of chlorine is less tha fluorine so it pcl3 is weak pi acceptor than pF3..Now och3 is electron releasing grouo so it will donate electron so its stretching frequency will be minimum ..hence order will be1>2>3
