Two object of equal mass have same kinetic & potential energy of 10 joule at a certain height If kinetic energy becomes 16 joule after some time calculate potential energy?
Most Upvoted Answer
Two object of equal mass have same kinetic & potential energy of 10 jo...
Total energy possessed by an object = KE + PE
2 x 10
= 20 joule
potential energy = total energy possessed by an object - kinetic energy
PE = 20 - 16 J
potential energy = 4 Joul

Two object of equal mass have same kinetic & potential energy of 10 jo...
By law of conservation of energy  Total mechanical energy= KE + PE = constant
at a certain height the kinetic and potential energy is 10 J , this means that total energy is 10J+10J = 20J or simply 10J*2=20J
=> the total energy of a system is constant at the value of 20J
now after sometime the Kinetic energy become 16J then PE=
20J-16J=4J
By the law of conservation of energy
Hence PE= 4 J
