2. Conduction:
Conduction charging occurs when a charged object comes into direct contact with a neutral object, causing the transfer of electric charges. If a positively charged object touches a neutral object, some of the positive charges will move from the charged object to the neutral object, leaving the charged object with a reduced charge. The neutral object will then become positively charged. Similarly, if a negatively charged object touches a neutral object, some of the negative charges will transfer to the neutral object, resulting in a negative charge for the neutral object. This process of charge transfer through direct contact is called conduction charging.
3. Induction:
Induction charging involves the redistribution of electric charges on an object without direct contact with a charged object. It occurs due to the influence of an external charged object on the distribution of charges in a neutral or grounded object. When a charged object is brought close to a neutral object, the charges in the neutral object redistribute themselves temporarily. This redistribution creates a separation of charges, with the side of the neutral object closest to the charged object experiencing an opposite charge and the other side experiencing a charge of the same polarity. However, the neutral object does not become permanently charged. If the charged object is then removed, the charges return to their original distribution.
