Difference between the nutrition in amoeba and human beings
Nutrition in Amoeba and Human Beings
Introduction: Amoeba and human beings are two entirely different organisms that have different modes of nutrition. Amoeba is a unicellular organism that feeds on other organisms, while humans are multicellular organisms that have a complex digestive system to break down food.
Nutrition in Amoeba:
- Amoeba is a heterotrophic organism that feeds on other microorganisms like bacteria, algae, and other small organisms.
- They use a process called phagocytosis to engulf their prey.
- The food is then enclosed in a food vacuole, where it is broken down by digestive enzymes.
- The nutrients are then absorbed by the cell through diffusion and used for energy.
Nutrition in Human Beings:
- Human beings are omnivorous animals that feed on both plants and animals.
- The food is first broken down by mechanical digestion in the mouth and then chemically digested in the stomach and small intestine.
- The nutrients are then absorbed by the small intestine and transported to the liver for processing.
- The liver then distributes the nutrients to various parts of the body where they are used for energy, growth, and repair.
Differences:
- Amoeba is a unicellular organism that feeds on other microorganisms, while humans are multicellular organisms that feed on both plants and animals.
- Amoeba uses phagocytosis to engulf its prey, while humans have a complex digestive system to break down food.
- Amoeba absorbs nutrients through diffusion, while humans absorb nutrients through the small intestine and liver.
- Amoeba uses the nutrients for energy, while humans use them for energy, growth, and repair.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the nutrition in amoeba and human beings is entirely different. Amoeba is a unicellular organism that feeds on other microorganisms and uses phagocytosis to engulf its prey. In contrast, humans are multicellular organisms that have a complex digestive system to break down food and absorb nutrients. While amoeba uses the nutrients for energy, humans use them for energy, growth, and repair.
Difference between the nutrition in amoeba and human beings
In human beings the proccesses (i.e ingestion, digestion, assimilation, absorbtion, egestion) are same as amoeba but human takes food directly from mouth and it is digested in stomach by giving digestive juices then absord by some proccesses but in amoeba as we know amoeba is so small and can be seen by a micrpscope and thus eats underwater plant and animalas whaich also microscopic it ingest them by finger like projections called pseudopodia (i.e trapping of food) then it take it to food vacuole and releases digestive juices and then the food is ready for assilmilation ans absorption of body of amoeba and waste material is egested from it body.thats the major difference
