Gravity, also called gravitation, is a force that exists among all material objects in the universe. It is a force that attracts things towards earth. Other than it some attractive force is there which makes attractions between things. For example; when a chair offers force towards a human he go towards chair, he sits on it too, depending upon that force. And if water it thrown on one it is due to that force between water and that person, water stays on him due to that force after end of force water fall from body, in universe every action taken place due forces nothing is independent.
According to newton, this force is given by:
F= Gm1m2/ r^2
where g is universal constant with value 6.67*10^-11.
m1 and m2 are the masses of two bodies between which the force has to be m and r is the distance between the two bodies.

Gravitational Force: An Overview

Gravitational force is one of the fundamental forces of nature that exists between any two objects with mass. It is the force that attracts objects towards each other. This force is responsible for the formation and maintenance of celestial bodies like planets, stars, and galaxies.

Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation

According to Newton's law of universal gravitation, every particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers. Mathematically, it can be expressed as:

F = G * (m1 * m2) / r^2

Where:
- F represents the gravitational force between the two objects
- G is the gravitational constant (approximately 6.67430 x 10^-11 N m^2 kg^-2)
- m1 and m2 are the masses of the two objects
- r is the distance between their centers

Key Concepts and Phenomena

1. Mass and Weight:
- Mass is the measure of the amount of matter in an object, while weight is the force exerted on an object due to gravity.
- Weight is calculated by multiplying mass with the acceleration due to gravity (9.8 m/s^2 on Earth).

2. Gravitational Field:
- The gravitational force experienced by an object in a gravitational field is defined as the force per unit mass.
- The strength of the gravitational field is directly proportional to the mass of the object creating it.

3. Free Fall:
- Free fall is the motion of an object under the influence of gravity alone, without any other forces acting on it.
- In free fall, all objects near the Earth's surface accelerate towards the center of the Earth at the same rate (9.8 m/s^2).

4. Kepler's Laws of Planetary Motion:
- Johannes Kepler's laws describe the motion of planets around the Sun.
- Law 1: Planets move in elliptical orbits with the Sun at one focus.
- Law 2: The line joining a planet to the Sun sweeps out equal areas in equal time intervals.
- Law 3: The square of the orbital period of a planet is directly proportional to the cube of its average distance from the Sun.

Applications and Significance

1. Planetary Motion:
- Gravitation explains the motion of planets, moons, and other celestial bodies in our solar system.
- It helps in predicting and understanding astronomical phenomena like eclipses, tides, and orbital dynamics.

2. Satellite Motion:
- Artificial satellites orbiting the Earth rely on the gravitational force to stay in their respective orbits.
- Understanding gravitational force is crucial for satellite communication, weather forecasting, and GPS systems.

3. Universal Force:
- Gravitational force is universal and acts on all objects with mass, regardless of their size or composition.
- It governs the dynamics of objects on both macroscopic and microscopic scales, shaping the structure of the universe.

In conclusion, gravitational force is a fundamental force of nature that attracts objects towards each other. It is described by Newton's law of universal gravitation and has various applications in understanding planetary motion, satellite orbits, and the dynamics of the universe.
