Among the following, the number of anhydrides of acids are.CO, NO, B2O...
Dears, Try to check by adding water to each of these. CO and NO don't make any sense regarding anhydrides. B2O3 is boric anhydride : H3BO3 → HBO2 + H2O,  2HBO2 → B2O3 + H2O; N2O5 is also anhydride:N2O5 + H2O → 2HNO3; SO3 is also anhydride as SO3+H20-->H2SO4; P4O10 is also anhydride as P4O10 + 6H2O → 4H3PO4; SO2 is also anhydride as SO2+H2O-->H2SO3. Total=5. Keep in mind that in hydrolysis and dehydration both, the oxidation number of central atom doesn't change as you can verify by above examples.

    Anhydrides of Acids

An anhydride is a compound that is formed by the removal of water from a molecule. Anhydrides of acids are compounds that are formed from the removal of water from two acid molecules. The resulting compound is an oxide that is acidic in nature.

    Examples of Anhydrides of Acids

The following are some examples of anhydrides of acids:

    1. Carbon monoxide (CO)
    2. Nitrogen dioxide (NO)
    3. Boron trioxide (B2O3)
    4. Dinitrogen pentoxide (N2O5)
    5. Sulfur trioxide (SO3)
    6. Tetraphosphorus decaoxide (P4O10)
    7. Sulfur dioxide (SO2)

    Identification of Anhydrides of Acids

To identify anhydrides of acids, one needs to look for oxides that are acidic in nature. These oxides are formed by the removal of water from two acid molecules. In the case of the above examples, all of them are oxides that are acidic in nature, and hence they are anhydrides of acids.

    Conclusion

In conclusion, among the given compounds, there are five anhydrides of acids. They are CO, NO, B2O3, N2O5, and SO3. These compounds are formed by the removal of water from two acid molecules, and they are acidic in nature.
