I have an idea for a startup but I don't have anybody to develop it. is it good to collaborate with web and mobile apps development company to build it by splitting profit?

Im in the same position as you.
but unfortunately this is hard to do.
most app developers are aware of the risk of making an app successful. They know that most app will fail.
app developers cost a lot money having your entire team working on an app for it not to work is deadly for their business.
Make sure you got the following before you contact a software developer company!
-a clear understanding of your app (yes, sometimes we dont even know what we want to build)
-a basic understanding of their vocabulary ex: wireframes, MVM, NDA, Cross-platform.
-You need to make sure your app will work (In my case I went to my local business and ask questions and presented a solution to their problems.
-Protect your idea and yourself: Set up an LLC (or your preferred corp) Dont share your idea even your bestfriend can betray you!
-Create a manual representation of your app or website.
Read the book "Lean Start Up" by Eric Ries.
-If you contact a software dev. company ask for a Non-Disclosure agreement. this will partially protect your idea from been stealed or share by the company.
-Get moneyyyy! raise capital because you will need it! ask future customers to help you. create a campaign in Kickstart!
