Calculation of EMF induced in a metallic wire

Given:

Radius of the semi-circle, r = 0.1 m

Magnetic field, B = 20 mT

Velocity of the wire, v = 10 m/s

Formula:

EMF induced, E = B*l*v

where l is the length of the wire in the magnetic field

l = π*r

Calculation:

l = π*r = π*0.1 = 0.314 m

E = B*l*v = 20*0.314*10^-3*10 = 6.28*10^-3 V

Therefore, the EMF induced in the metallic wire is 6.28*10^-3 V.
