A transformer is essentially an AC device.
DC source so no mutual induction between
coils
⇒ E2 = 0 and I2 = 0

The primary of a transformer when connected toa dc battery of 10 volt ...
Solution:

Given data:

Primary voltage (V1) = 10 V

Primary current (I1) = 1 mA = 0.001 A

Number of turns in the primary (N1) = 50

Number of turns in the secondary (N2) = 100

Step 1: Calculation of primary current

Primary current (I1) = Secondary current (I2) × (N2/N1)

0.001 = I2 × (100/50)

I2 = 0.0005 A = 0.5 mA

Step 2: Calculation of secondary voltage

Secondary voltage (V2) = Primary voltage (V1) × (N2/N1)

V2 = 10 × (100/50)

V2 = 20 V

Therefore, the voltage in the secondary is 20 V.

Step 3: Calculation of secondary current

The current drawn by the circuit in the secondary is zero because the transformer is connected to a DC battery. Transformers work only on AC supply, and the DC supply does not cause any current flow in the secondary.

Therefore, the correct answer is option D, i.e., zero and therefore no current.
