WHAT IS IT?
P E R I M E T E R
The perimeter of a shape is defined as the total
distance around the shape. It is the length of the
outline or boundary of any two-dimensional geometric
shape. The perimeter of different figures can be
equal in measure depending upon the dimensions.

FAQs on PPT: Mensuration - Mathematics (Maths) Class 8

1. What is mensuration?
Ans. Mensuration is the branch of mathematics that deals with the measurement of geometric figures such as length, area, volume, and angles.
2. How is the area of a triangle calculated?
Ans. The area of a triangle is calculated using the formula: Area = 1/2 * base * height.
3. What is the formula for finding the volume of a sphere?
Ans. The formula for finding the volume of a sphere is: Volume = 4/3 * π * radius^3.
4. How do you calculate the perimeter of a rectangle?
Ans. The perimeter of a rectangle is calculated by adding all the sides together, given by the formula: Perimeter = 2 * (length + width).
5. Can you explain how to find the surface area of a cylinder?
Ans. The surface area of a cylinder is calculated using the formula: Surface Area = 2πr(r + h), where r is the radius of the base and h is the height of the cylinder.
