Welcome to the Adobe Audition course! In this article, we will delve into the interface of Adobe Audition CC and break it down into easily understandable sections. Although the interface may seem overwhelming at first, rest assured that it is actually quite simple when you approach it in smaller parts. By the end of this article, you will have a clear understanding of the different components and tabs within the Adobe Audition interface.
When you launch Adobe Audition, you will typically be prompted to create a new project. You can choose between starting with an audio file or a multitrack session. Let's take a closer look at what you will see in the interface once Adobe Audition is launched.
The waveform is a fundamental element of Adobe Audition. It represents your studio space where you can make your initial audio recordings. When creating a new waveform, you may be asked to give it a title. Think of the waveform as a place where you and your microphone can intimately record audio. You can hit the record button in the waveform to start capturing your audio. Within the waveform, you can make edits, remove specific parts of the track, or keep the entire recording intact. It also allows you to adjust decibel settings and volume levels.
In Adobe Audition, there are two main sections: waveform and multitrack. The waveform is where you make fine-tune edits and record your initial audio, while the multitrack is where you combine multiple recordings together. Within the multitrack section, you can create different tracks or racks to place your audio files. For example, you can make a new audio track in the waveform, record a message, and then drag that waveform into a track in the multitrack section. The multitrack section allows you to arrange and edit your recordings. Any changes made in the waveform section, such as deleting portions of a track, will be reflected in the multitrack.
The file section in Adobe Audition serves as a repository for all your audio files. You can easily drag and drop files from the file section to any track in the multitrack or waveform sections. Tracks in Adobe Audition play simultaneously, meaning if you have multiple tracks, they will play together when you hit the play button.
You have the option to export and save your projects in both the multitrack and waveform sections. If you want to save an individual audio file, you can export it directly from the waveform section. For more complex projects that involve podcasting, DJ drops, or creating commercial voiceovers with multiple voices, you will utilize the multitrack section. It allows you to manage larger projects with ease.
Within Adobe Audition, you have several track controls available. You can mute a track, which temporarily disables its sound output. Arming a track allows you to work on it solo, focusing only on that particular track. To record on a track, you need to arm it and hit the record button. These track controls provide you with flexibility and control over your audio recordings.
Adobe Audition offers a range of tools and settings to enhance your audio editing experience. The tools can be found in the upper section of the interface. From here, you can access various settings, view files, manage clips, and apply effects. On a Mac computer, these options are located in the tab area at the top of the interface. Windows users can also access these features using the tabs.
Congratulations! You now have a solid understanding of the Adobe Audition CC interface. Remember, the waveform is where you make initial recordings and fine-tune edits, while the multitrack section allows you to combine and manage multiple audio recordings. By exploring the various tools, settings, and track controls, you can create professional audio projects with ease. So let's dive in and start making amazing audio content with Adobe Audition!
