Solution. Given that f (x) = 2 + cos x which is continuous and differentiable every where.

Such that f ' (c) = 0
∴ Statement-1 is true.
Also f (x) being periodic of period 2π, statement-2 is true, but statement-2 is not a correct explanation of statement-1.
