Q1: Look at how different things are kept in groups. Try to guess the total number without counting each thing.

1. There are 4 groups in the picture. Each group has 3 glasses. Add the number 3 four times to find the total number of glasses.
3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 12
There are 
12 glasses in total. 

2. There are 5 groups in the picture. Each group has 5 bangles. Add the number 5 five times.
5 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 = 25
There are 
25 bangles in total. 

3. Two same types of earrings make one pair. Count the total number of pairs of earrings.
There are 
12 pairs of earrings in the given picture.

Q2: There are three groups of spoons.

(b) Guess the total number of spoons.
Ans: 

(a)  In each group, 4 spoons are arranged upside and 4 spoons are arranged upside down.
4 + 4 = 8
There are 8 spoons in each group. 
(b) There are 3 groups of spoons and in each group, there are 8 spoons.
Add the number 8 three times.
8 + 8 + 8 = 24
There are 24 spoons in the given picture.

Q1:  Seema has made a design with different bindis.
NCERT Solutions for Class 2 Maths Chapter 2 - Counting in Groups(a) Look at the groups and guess the total number of bindis. 
(b) Draw more groups to complete 100 bindis. How many more bindis did you have to draw?
Ans: 
(a) There are 8 groups of bindis in the picture. In each group there are 10 bindis. Add the number 10 eight times.
10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 = 80
Therefore, there are 80 bindis in total. 
(b) There are 80 bindis in total. To complete 100 bindis, you need to draw
100 – 80 = 20 bindis
Since 10 bindis are in each group, draw 2 groups of 10 bindis.
