Joint Entrance Examination - Main or commonly known as JEE Main is a national level entrance exam conducted by the NTA to offer admission to BE/BTech, BPlan and BArch courses at the IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), NITs (National Institute of Technology) and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) across the country.
Only the top 2.5 lakh score holders in JEE Mains 2021 will be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced for admission to various undergraduate engineering programmes offered by IITs in India. The counselling cum seat allotment for all the IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs will be organised and managed by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). In 2020, 107 institutes participated in JoSAA Counselling.

JEE Main 2021 Registration
The application form of JEE Main 2021 for January exam will be available soon in online mode. Candidates will be able to fill and submit their JEE Main 2021 application form for two papers 1 (BE/BTech), paper 2 (BArch and BPlan).
The NTA will release the JEE registration number. Over the last few years, the registration for JEE Main has increased. However, in the April 2020 exam the registration dipped due to COVID-19.
JEE Main Eligibility 2021
NTA has released the JEE Main 2021 eligibility criteria for BTech, BArch and BPlan papers. Candidates must fulfil all the eligibility conditions to be eligible for JEE Main exam. The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2021 is as follows:
1. Age Criteria: There is no age limit for aspirants appearing in the JEE Main
2. Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE)
Candidates who have passed their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2018 or 2019 are eligible
Those who are appearing in their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2020 are also eligible to appear in January and April session
Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2018 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2021 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)–2021.
3. Qualifying subjects: Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th /qualifying examination to be eligible
4. Qualifying marks
To appear in JEE Mains, the minimum qualifying marks (for admission to NITs, IIITs, IITs, and CFTIs) that aspirants require is 75 per cent (aggregate) or
Candidates should be in the top 20 percentile in the Class 12 exam conducted by respective Boards
For reserved candidates, the minimum qualifying marks is 65 per cent
5. Total attempts
A candidate is allowed to attempt the exam for three consecutive years
The number of attempts will be six in total – twice each year for three years

JEE Main 2021 Admit Card
The NTA will release JEE Main 2020 admit card date for the January session 15 days prior to the exam. Registered candidates can download the admit card from the official website. The admit card is an essential document that must be carried to the examination hall. The authority also informs candidates about the release of admit cards through registered email ID and mobile number.

NTA will declare JEE Main 2021 result for the January session on the official website
Candidates can access their results by entering their date of birth and roll number
The result contains the scores of the candidates obtained in the entrance test

Q. What is NTA and its role in JEE Main 2020?
A. NTA or National Testing Agency is an autonomous testing organisation to conduct entrance exams for admission/fellowship in higher education institutions. NTA is entrusted to take care of all issues from test preparation, to test delivery and to test marking in the exams conducted by the agency including JEE Main 2020. The agency is converting its 2,697 test practise centres into teaching centres from 2019.
Q. Will JEE Main 2021 be postponed?
A. JEE Main 2021 is being delayed due to the delay in the 2020 process. The authority is expected to release the JEE Main 2021 dates on December 10.
Q. Will 75% criteria be removed for JEE 2021?
A. Till now, the officials have not announced any notification regarding the eligibility criteria. This page will be updated as soon as NTA releases any latest notification related JEE Main 2021 exam.
Q. Has the syllabus and pattern of JEE Main changed after NTA took over CBSE?
A. No, NTA JEE Main syllabus, as well as JEE Main pattern, is the same. However, this year, the authority has changed the exam pattern of JEE Main.

A. No. There is no mandate to appear for the exam twice. It depends on the candidate's choice. In case they appear for the exam, the better of the two scores will be used to rank in the merit list.
