IAS (UPSC CSE) Prelims, popularly known as UPSC Prelims 2021, was conducted on October 10, 2021. The UPSC IAS Prelims 2021 exam was conducted in two shifts for the two papers- from 9:30-11:30 AM and 2:30-4:30 PM.
According to the candidates who appeared for the exam and the expert analysts, the Prelims GS Paper 1 was easy to moderate in difficulty. All the sections had questions from varying difficulty levels.

UPSC Prelims GS 1 Analysis 2021- Overall Analysis
The following tables shows the number of questions asked from each topic of Prelims Syllabus of GS 1, as well as the difficulty level of each section. It can be seen that the most number of questions were asked from History and Geography section and that the section was overall difficult.
The Science section saw most of the questions from the Science and Technology portion and only one question was asked from General Science.
This time, the number of questions from Current Affairs were fairly low- 7, as compared to last year’s 15. Also, there was only one question from Miscellaneous.
