Craft Ideas: Cherry Blossom Tree | Hands on Art & Craft - Class 1 PDF Download
Material Required
- 1 Egg Carton – go for the natural colored one
- 12 White Buttons
- 6 Pink Pipe Cleaners
- 1 Tree Branch
- Pink Paint
- Scissors
- Optional: Hot Glue Gun
Directions to be followed
- First, we’ll need to cut up the egg carton. Carefully cut the individual egg carton cups as close to the container as possible. Then following the already existing pattern, cut and shape your carton cup into a flower.
- Next, time to get out the paint! My toddler couldn’t wait to dip into our HOT pink paint. Then let your child paint the entire carton cup, inside and out. Allow to dry.
- Gather your white buttons and place one in the bottom of your egg carton. (I had a teary eyed moment when I got to use the buttons from my grandmother’s sewing kit.)
- Using your pipe cleaners, thread through the button holes (I used a large yarn needle to help guide the pipe cleaners). Be careful when threading to avoid punching out the bottom of your flower. Leave the top of the of flower open as shown.
- Next, let’s gather a large tree branch from outside. Finding the perfect branch was really important to the kids. Then using pipe cleaners or hot glue, apply your blossoms onto the branch. (You might want to spray paint the branch next time for more color contrast.) Allow to dry.
