Chuskit’s Dream

  • Today is a very special day for Chuskit. She's been eagerly waiting for it because today, for the first time ever, she's going to school. Chuskit is ten years old. Her school isn't too far from her house. 
  • To get there, you have to take the big road, walk along the lake, cross the river near the poplar trees, and then climb a small hill to reach the school. That's how all the kids from Skitpo Pul village get to school, except for Chuskit.
  • Chuskit realized she was different from other kids because she couldn't do the things they could. It was because of her legs. Since she was born, Chuskit hasn't been able to use her legs.

  • Chuskit loved drawing near the window all day. Her mother praised her drawings, making her happy. But she became even happier when her father got her a wheelchair with wheels. Chuskit quickly learned how to use it, moving it back and forth on her own. Now, she didn't need her father to carry her everywhere. 
  • Whenever she wanted to go outside, she asked her mother to put her in the wheelchair, and she could come out on her own. Chuskit would see the other children playing and laughing on their way to school every morning. She wished she could go with them.

  • One day, Abdul visited her with a letter and asked why she didn't go to school. Chuskit sadly explained that she couldn't walk, her father couldn't carry her to school every day, and the road to school wasn't suitable for her wheelchair.

  • She also didn't know how she could cross the river. Abdul asked if she wanted to go to school if she could, and Chuskit excitedly said yes, expressing her desire to study and play like the other children.   • After Abdul left Chuskit's house, he started thinking about how to help her go to school. He talked to the Headmaster and convinced the teachers to help too.
