What is the GMAT Exam?

• The GMAT Exam (Graduate Management Admission Test) is a standardized test designed to assess the skills that are necessary for success in business school, including analytical writing, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Eligibility Criteria 2024

• It's important to note that while there is no minimum or maximum academic qualification limit for the test taker to take the GMAT Exam, most business schools do have their own admission requirements, which may include a minimum GMAT Exam score.
• In terms of age, it's important to note that the minimum age to take the GMAT exam is 18. For students between the ages of 13 and 17 permission from their parents or legal guardians is required to take the test. The letter must include the parent or guardian's name, signature, and contact information. This letter needs to be presented at the time of the test.
• There is no upper age limit for attempting the GMAT Exam.

The GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) offers accommodations if you have a disability that affects your ability to take the exam.
The reservation criteria for the GMAT Exam apply to applicants who have any of the following disabilities:

• Psychological Disabilities
• Learning and Cognitive Disorder
• Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder
• Sensory Disabilities (Hearing or Vision)
• Physical and Systematic Disabilities

According to the GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) which administers the GMAT exam, accommodations may include but not limited to:

GMAT Registration Process

The GMAT Exam application process involves the following steps:

• Register for the GMAT exam: You can register for the GMAT exam online at the GMAT official website (https://www.mba.com/exams/gmat-exam/Register). You will need to create a GMAT account and choose a test center, date, and time for the exam.
• Choose your test type: Decide whether you want to take the exam at a testing center or through the GMAT exam online. The registration process is slightly different for each test type, so be sure to select the one that's right for you.
• Select your test date and location: Choose the date and location that work best for you. If you're taking the exam at a testing center, you'll be able to see all the available test dates and locations in your area. If you're taking the GMAT Exam Online, you'll be able to select a test date and time that works for you, within the available dates.
• Pay the GMAT exam fee: The GMAT exam fee is $275. You can pay the fee with a credit card or debit card when you register for the exam.
  • Fees for other services

• Fees for Rescheduling and Cancellation of the exam appointments
  Keep in mind that this fee can differ depending on your country of residence. Check the GMAT official website for the exact fee for your country.

GMAT Exam Pattern 2023

• The GMAT Exam is a computer adaptive test where the level of difficulty of questions increases if you are doing well and decreases if you are not doing well.
• You cannot skip or return to previous questions
• The total time given to a candidate for completing the exam is 187 minutes ie 3 hours and 7 minutes
• There are a total of 80 questions in the GMAT exam divided as per the following criteria.

• The scoring system is relatively less sensitive towards the end, so all questions are important, but the first 10-15 questions in each section are relatively more important.
• There is no negative marking in the GMAT Exam, and the score received for each question isn't constant.
• The marking algorithm hasn't been made public but general consensus is that the score per question adjusts itself according to the difficulty of the question.
• Be sure to complete the exam, as you are penalized more heavily for not attempting questions than for attempting them incorrectly, so make sure to attempt all questions.
• Candidates are offered the freedom to take two optional 8-minute breaks, which they can take in any one of the following orders

• In the end, it’s the candidate’s choice to decide the order of their breaks according to their own convenience.
• The GMAT Exam is scored on a scale of 200-800. It is scored in increments of 10
• The overall GMAT score only consists of the Verbal and Quantitative section scores.
• The Integrated Reasoning and AWA section scores aren't included in the overall score but they are displayed on your score report.

GMAT 2024 Results 

The scores for the GMAT exam are reported on a scale of 200 to 800. This includes the Verbal and the Quantitative Aptitude score. The Integrated Reasoning and Analytical Writing Assessment scores are not included in the overall score, but it is displayed on the scorecard.
An unofficial score report with your scores for the verbal, quantitative and integrated reasoning sections of the GMAT exam is provided to you at the test center once you have completed the exam.
Whereas, an Official Score Report provides detailed information about your performance on the GMAT exam. It includes your score as well as a percentile ranking that compares your scores to those of other test takers. The report also includes your background information, such as your GMAT exam ID, exam date, and appointment number. This report will be available to you online approximately 20 calendar days after the exam.
You and your designated score recipients (graduate business programs) will receive a copy of your Official Score Report.
To check your GMAT exam result, follow these steps:

• Go to the GMAT exam website (www.mba.com).
• Click on the "LogIn" button in the top right corner of the page.
• Enter your GMAT account login credentials (email address and password).
• Once you have logged in, click on the "View Scores" tab.
• Your GMAT exam scores will be displayed on the "View Scores" page. You will see your scores for the verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing sections of the exam, as well as your overall score.

What should I do if I encounter an issue while attempting my GMAT  Exam?

• On the profile page, you will see a section labelled "My Information." Here, you can update your personal information, such as your name, address, and contact details.
• Once you have made any necessary changes to your personal information, click the "Save" button to update your profile.
• In case you need to update your name in your account, you will have to upload the proper legal documents for verification by the GMAC.
• In case you have recently moved and changed your address, you can update the information from the same profile page, it's always good to ensure that the information in your profile is accurate and up-to-date.

How Will I Fund My MBA Abroad?

There are many ways of Funding your MBA studies abroad:

• Scholarships: Many business schools offer scholarships to international students based on merit or financial need.
• Loans: International students may be eligible for government or private loans to help fund their MBA. Loans can be Collateral or Non-collateral.
• Personal savings: Some students may use their own savings to pay for their MBA.
