Tips to Solve Tabular Form Questions

• This method can save a lot of time and is especially useful when the options are not too similar. In this approach, you round everything off to the nearest '0' as the last digit.
• When reviewing the data, make sure you're checking the correct row and column. Carefully inspect the information as thoroughly as possible.
• As you go through the data, pay close attention to the units being used, especially if conversions are needed. A single misplaced ‘0’ could lead to an incorrect answer.
• Before starting to solve the problem, take a look at the options. If they aren't too close to each other, try to solve the problem as quickly as possible.
• While reviewing the options, note whether they are presented as percentages or decimals. This will guide you as you work through the solution.
• Finally, remember to convert your answer as needed.

​The table below shows the number of laptops that were sold by the showroom in the years from 2010 to 2014. Answer the question below based on the information given in the table.

Q. What percentage of laptops were sold by showroom B in 2013, less than showroom C in 2011?

D. 13

Solution: The number of laptops sold by showroom B in 2013 and showroom C in 2011.

From the table:

• Showroom B sold 260 laptops in 2013.
• Showroom C sold 300 laptops in 2011.

Now, we calculate how many percentages of showroom B’s sales in 2013 were less than showroom C's sales in 2011:

Percentage = ((300 - 260) / 300) * 100
= (40 / 300) * 100
= 13.33%

So, the closest option is 13, making the correct answer:
