Summary
Madhu was a boy who
loved food and enjoyed eating a variety of snacks every day. He would
sit under a
banyan tree to peacefully have his lunch. One day, while eating, an
old man came to him. Madhu felt
sorry for him and shared his food. The
old man was very
happy and told Madhu that he could make a wish from the banyan tree as a
reward. Because he loved food so much, Madhu wished for
never-ending food of all kinds.

First, the tree gave Madhu a basket of laddoos, and he ate them happily. But after some time, he got tired of them and wished for colourful fruits. The tree gave him fruits, but soon he got bored again. Then, he asked for tasty snacks like samosas, kachoris, and potato chips. He enjoyed them a lot until he got hiccups and felt very thirsty. When he asked for water, the tree reminded him that he had only wished for food, not water.

Madhu then asked for drinks like sharbat and kheer, but they did not satisfy his thirst. Finally, feeling desperate, Madhu wished for all the food to disappear so he could have only water. The tree asked if he was sure, and Madhu, understanding the value of water, confirmed his wish. A jug of water appeared, and Madhu drank it eagerly, feeling truly satisfied at last.
