2. Reflex Arc

Mnemonic: "RACEE"

• R - Receptor: Detects the stimulus (e.g., heat, pressure).
• A - Afferent or Sensory Nerve: Transmits sensory impulses from the receptor to the central nervous system.
• C - Centre (Brain or Spinal Cord): Processes the sensory input and determines the response.
• E - Efferent or Motor Nerve: Carries the motor command from the central nervous system to the effector.
• E - Effector: Produces the response (e.g., muscle contraction, gland secretion).

3. Parts of CNS

Mnemonic: "Funky Monkeys Have Crazy Minds Peacefully"

Funky - Forebrain: The most complex part of the brain.
Functions: Thinking, voluntary actions, memory, sensory integration, hunger.

Monkeys - Midbrain: Controls involuntary actions like pupil size and reflex movements.
Have - Hindbrain: Has three parts.

• Crazy - Cerebellum: Controls posture, balance, and precision of voluntary actions (like picking up a pen).
• Minds - Medulla: Manages involuntary actions (like blood pressure, salivation, vomiting).
• Peacefully - Pons: Regulates respiration and other involuntary actions.

4. Plant Hormone

Mnemonic: A CAGE

A - Auxins
Function: Elongate cells, stimulate root growth, and help fruit develop.

C - Cytokinins
Function: Divide cells, boost shoot growth, and keep leaves fresh.

A - ABA (Abscisic Acid)
Function: Inhibit growth, induce dormancy, and handle stress.

G - Gibberellins
Function: Stretch stems, start seed growth, and aid flowering.

E - Ethylene
Function: Ripen fruits, drop leaves, and manage stress.
