2. How is Rajasthan administratively divided?

3. What are the geographical features of Rajasthan?
Ans. Rajasthan is known for its diverse geographical features. It has the Aravalli Range, which is one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world. The Thar Desert covers a significant portion of the state, with its sand dunes and arid climate. The state also has fertile plains, rivers, and lakes, such as the Chambal River and Lake Pichola.
4. What is the significance of the Aravalli Range in Rajasthan?
Ans. The Aravalli Range plays a crucial role in the geography of Rajasthan. It acts as a natural barrier, separating the desert region from the rest of the state. The range helps in regulating the climate, as it blocks the southwest monsoon winds, resulting in low rainfall in the western part of the state. The Aravalli Range also has rich mineral resources, including marble, granite, and minerals like zinc and lead.
5. How does the Thar Desert impact the geography of Rajasthan?
Ans. The Thar Desert has a significant impact on the geography of Rajasthan. It covers a large portion of the state, making it one of the most prominent features. The desert experiences extreme temperatures, with scorching heat during the day and cold nights. The arid climate and sandy terrain limit vegetation growth, making it a challenging environment for agriculture. However, the Thar Desert has its unique ecosystem and supports a variety of desert flora and fauna.
