Burns 306 Burn Hand Stretches Video Lecture - Introduction to Burn Care

find out which stretches are appropriate
for you this video will walk you through
the recommended hand stretches for your
burn
it is important to perform these
stretches every hour you are awake hold
each stretch for at least 30 seconds and
perform each stretch 10 to 15 times full
fist bend finger joints and make a full
fist you shouldn't be able to see any
space or fingernails when performing
this exercise
MP flexion bend your fingers at your
first knuckle to 90 degrees and hold
d IP p IP flexion bend the top two
joints of the fingers toward the palm
and hole
fist pumps start with finger straight
and spread apart extend your fingers
fully straight then close your hand into
a fist then open and spread the fingers
apart again
some opposition move your thumb across
your palm and try to touch the base of
your little finger
diamond stretch place the tips of your
thumbs and fingers together bring your
thumbs down and push hands together to
form a diamond
finger webspace stretch start with
fingers straight and spread apart then
use your other hand to spread them apart
even further
repeat with each webspace holding each
stretch for 30 seconds
you
individual MP flexion using a table bend
your finger at the hand finger joint and
hold it using the table to keep it in
place repeat this stretch for each MP
