I'm going to show you some of what you
can do with blocks in Ableton Live using

control every element of blocks you can
change how they're laid out what they
control and how they react all these
kinds of preferences can be saved
together as modes these modes allow you
to customize your blocks to fit your
workflow I'm going to lay down some
tracks using three modes on three
litepad blocks on this block I've got a
grid of five by five highlighting the
notes of a G sharp minor scale this next
block is laid out like a mixer these
four faders control the volume of my
tracks these three buttons are for live
looping and this button will launch a
pre-recorded drum track Ableton makes it
really easy to map controllers like
these this third block is set up as an
XY V pad turning the light pad block
into a multi dimensional effects
controller each axis is controlling a
different parameter of Ableton Auto
filter so now I'll record a loop and
start building up a song the first
instrument I'm controlling is strobe to
buy at expansion this is a great sense
to experiment with roly's expressive
silicon surface now I'm bringing the
drum to record a new layer I'll bring up
the fader and press this button to
record this time I'm using fabfilter
twin
now record a loop using diva by you

alright now let's add some effects would
be XYZ pad by moving left and right I
can open and close the filter manually
but if I press into the surface I can
open and close the filter automatically
I can then move up and down to change
the rate
