welcome to episode 13 of my Pro Tools 11
video tutorial series in this episode
we're gonna continue looking at some of
our additional editing features down
here and this video we're going to take
a look at the insertion follows playback
function now when you turn this on you
can click anywhere you can click in the
track as long as your linked timeline at
selection is on or you can click on the
timeline itself and when you hit play
it's gonna start playback from there but
when I stop playback you'll notice that
the playhead actually jumps forward to
wherever I stopped at now that can be
useful if you're trying to sort of stop
and start and and you want to you know
be able to continue on from where you
were listening but if you're like in a
tracking situation you need to read to
keep recording this section over and
over and over again you may want to
actually turn the insertion follows
playback off because now if I click here
and hit play and I stop it you'll notice
that the playhead still goes back to our
original insertion point so Jenna in
general I would turn insertion follows
playback off if you're trying to listen
to a section over and over again or you
keep having to go back to a specific
section and keep working on it I would
turn insertion follows playback on if
you want to be able to stop and start
the playback and be able to continue
