hi the next mode is the difference now
this mold subtracts the pixel value of
the layer above from that of the layer
below and takes the absolute value of
the result you can use it to invert
elements of an image now let's see some
examples again with these two pictures
here choose difference you'll see what
kind of effect we get pretty interesting
effect let's switch them around like
that put this layer on difference see
the effect we're getting here let's undo
all that let's now switch on this
gradient layer that I made this is not a
gradient layer it's an image which I
made with a gradient tool here let's put
that there a difference and you see what
interesting effect we're getting you see
how where there is black the image is
not affected and the lighter the color
is the worse there's more white the
images affected a lot more let's go to
normal and make this layer invisible
let's go to this layer and put it on
difference
you see what kind of interesting effects
you're getting here you can also use
this with our brush tool let's take a
look at that let's go to this image
select our brush tool on difference it's
gonna hard edge brush and for example
let's get our color selection dialog
here and select this blue color you see
how this blue color is affecting we can
select green the green will be affecting
in a different way
yellow so you can experiment with
different colors see what kind of
effects you get this is a very
interesting mode play around with it
