Match Facebook Cover and Profile Photo - GIMP 2.8 tutorial Video Lecture | A GIMP 2.8 Tutorial for Beginners - Design Softwares

hi in this tutorial I'll show you how
you can match your facebook cover photo
with your profile photo using GIMP as
you can see here I've lured the rest of
the site but the photographs are
matching perfectly before I continue I
just want to mention that this
measurements that I'm going to use will
work for your personal Facebook profile
they will not work for a Facebook page
so if you're interesting in something
like that for a Facebook page

about that too so let's get started and
delete this layer turn this one on and
you see here I created this simple
graphic with this lines so we better see
if the photographs are matching of
course you can use any image any digital
photograph that you've taken or graphics
that you created to do something like
this all you need to remember is that
you need to fit it into this size width
and height these are the dimensions that
I'm going to use so I can match the
Facebook profile photo and the cover
photo so here are some numbers now this
here multiplied by two will give you
this number
I suggest you write this down pause the
video write these down so you can use
them later now these numbers here I'm
going to use to drag some guides and
I'll use these here these are these
numbers multiplied by two again let's
get started drag a guide from here and
down here is where I will watch for the
number the first one that I'm looking
for is 396
second one is six to eight
third one in 7/16 next some vertical
guides 56
next three seven six
this time I'm looking at this number
okay so let's turn this layer off um now
this will be the area where your profile
photo is going to be and this will be
the area where your cover photo is going
to be in this area here this one this
one down here and this one will be left
out next thing I'll do is grab this
select tool make sure we are snapping to
guides click here drag like this I'm
going to zoom in to see if the selection
is correct
next thing ctrl C to copy go to file new
create a new image and that image you
open in another tab you can show V here
next thing right click here to new layer
then I'll delete this background go to
image fit canvas layers and next thing
I'll have to export this let's say I'll
call it pro for profile picture click
export adjust the settings that I want
and then export the picture I'm gonna
close this next thing we need to do is
to select the cover photo don't worry
about going outside in these areas on
this one at the bottom is important
let's see if it's exactly right now it
is again ctrl C to copy this new paste
it here to new layer delete this one
image fill canvas two layers and again
export this
let's go cover
export this image too so that's
basically it the two images are exported
now you can use them upload them to your
Facebook and you see that they will
match so that's it for this tutorial and
