hi in this tutorial I'll show you how
you can bring more detail to a
photograph using the unsharp mask filter
clone tool and a few tricks and this
photograph was given to me by a friend
of mine to use for a tutorial you see
it's a B on a flower and this one is the
original photograph and you see here
some of the areas are bordered and I'd
like to bring more detail and make it
look too something like this you need to
be really careful when you do this not
to go too far because if you go too far
you'll start seeing some weird effects
so I think that from this to this it's a
pretty good result so let's not delete
this finish result here and start over
I'm going to duplicate this there next
thing I'll do is go to filters enhance
sharpen ask and you can find here the B
and for radios I'll enter 10 now click
ok but notice that 4 different images
you have to work with different options
here in different numbers you have to
experiment a little until you get the
best result for this image I'll use this
radius of 10 and I'll just click OK now
you see the result here I applied the
filter to the entire layer I wanted to
bring out a little bit more detail here
on the flower too and be what I'm going
to do next is duplicate this layer I'm
going to apply this filter one more time
so I'm going to click repeat now we have
doubled the effect but you see that we
are starting to get some weird effects
here that we don't want that's why I'm
gonna move this layer one step down and
this is the layer that we
did first I'm gonna select the clone
tool alignment registered and I make the
brush bigger something like this and
here I mentioned on this layer which is
as double the effect and control click
and I'll go here you know start painting
only over the body here in some parts of
the legs and a little bit here something
like this
this way I will get the effect over the
body but I will not get this weird
looking head here in rest of the image
so just paint over the body which I
already did so the next thing I'll do is
delete this there I won't need it
anymore let's see the before and after
this is the original image this is after
editing and if you go too far somewhere
you can also go back to this original
layer again register click let's make
the door smaller and even you can reduce
the opacity if you like and kind of
reverse this effect so right now if I
paint over here for example over these
eyes actually I need to go to the other
layer first so I click here go here and
paint over like this you see them
reversing the effect so you can do also
that if you think that you went too far
in some areas you can use this again the
clone tool registered click on this
there with the ctrl key and on this
layer you paint the information from
this layer so that's a very quick way to
kind of bring more detail to areas of
your photograph which you want to bring
more detail and like I said experiment a
little bit with the settings and also be
careful not to go too far and ruin the
