Combine Photographs - GIMP 2.8 tutorial Video Lecture | A GIMP 2.8 Tutorial for Beginners - Design Softwares

hi in this tutorial I'll show you how
you can combine two images in GIMP and
I'm gonna do two things one time I'll
put the head of this lizard here only
the head on this image looking at the
flower and in the other case I will
combine these two images together so we
get one image with a bigger with these
two images were given to me by a friend
of mine to use for my tutorials and if
you want to give me your images to use
in my tutorials you can go to my
facebook page link is in the description
and contact me there so the first thing
I'll do here is go to image canvas size
and here on enter star 2 and then click
enter to double the width and then click
resize next thing grab the move tool and
I'm also going to put this layer one
step down and move this one over here
you can hold down the ctrl key to
restrain the movement to left and right
and not up and down so I'm putting this
over here then I'll select this one and
I'll put it over here
next thing add a layer mask to this
layer after that grab blend 2 and I'll
use the default gradient here click hold
down the control key to get a straight
line and do something like this
next thing brush tool we're gonna
increase the size a little bit let's
zoom in and I'm going to paint over the
head like this
also you can click on the layer mask
you'd see if you missed anything now the
next thing we can do is reduce the
opacity and start painting some areas
here let's undo this you can clear the
image in the back here
also we can swap these and paint with
white in this way I will restore this
image you see how I'm removing the grass
from the lizard image here
and you can continue like this until you
think you blended the two images
well now next thing we can do is flatten
this image and crop too
you can of course try to be more precise
when cropping
click answer zoom out let's make this
bigger to see the final result and you
see how we blended these two images
together this lizard looking at the
flower and this worked pretty well
because both the lizard in the flower in
the front are on focus and both
backgrounds here our focus this looks
pretty well of course it's hard to
actually make this look like one
photograph but I think that the result
is pretty satisfying now I'm going to
induce on steps here and let's bring
back the layers here go back to the mask
here select the brush tool make the
opacity 100 I'm gonna start painting
back the detail here and I won't just
leave the head in this image with the
flowers
make the brush a little bit smaller you
just see we have missed some areas here
very careful with the fuzzy brush go
around it like this
and the next thing we can do is just
crop this image here crop
let's make this more and this bigger and
you see how now we have this only the
head of the lizard looking at the flower
here so these are interesting ways to
combine images together in GIMP using
layer mask and some blending so that's
it for this tutorial
