hi in this tutorial I want to show you
how to put this whale into the lake the
first thing we need to do is scale the
image make sure we keep the aspect ratio
and then scale it down let's say around
here click scale
then with the move to position the image
next I'll add a layer mask white full
opacity click Add then I'll make sure I
have selected the layer mask will have
the brush to increase the size and start
painting over
the next thing I want to do is go to
filters blur Gaussian blur find the edge
of the air mask and here I'll enter 200
click enter and then ok then I'll go to
view and remove the layer boundary so it
doesn't get in the way then I'll
continue painting over with the brush
tool
slowly removing the unwanted areas I'll
decrease the opacity to 40
let's zoom in to see better what are we
doing again with the brush tool or
decrease the size and continue painting
over
now let's see if we had gone over the
whale and also the Gaussian blur made
parts of the whale transparent so I'm
going to switch the foreground and
background colour and paint back the
whale
this also brought some of the same power
of the image background the water but
I'm going to remove this now to decrease
the size so let's say 20 swap again
foreground background color zoom in even
further and start painting over very
carefully here
I'm also going to pass here and you see
now I remove the unnecessary areas the
next thing I'm going to do is selected
layer go to the hue/saturation select
the same color and change it to a color
that more matches the color of the lake
something around six seven it's fine
click OK now the next thing I want to do
is gain grab the brush tool select the
layer another layer mask and select
saturation for the brush mode increase
the size and paint over to saturate
these two blue areas I'm going to reduce
the opacity to 20 here and paint over
one more time
now something else you see here that the
Sun is coming from the right from the
shadows in the trees so I would like to
make some of the shadow here disappear
and leave only the shadow on the left
and this one on the right now remove
slowly increasing the opacity to 60
well zoom in see better what I'm doing
here reduce the size of the brush
so of the foreground and background
color game to paint deck the whale and
just a little bit of the shadow also
he's right here
let's zoom out now another thing I wanna
do before that let's just try to remove
a little bit more of the shadow here
so another one thing I want to do is
duplicate the layer here and I want to
make this one darker so go to colors
brightness and contrast and reduce the
brightness on this layer
because I want the left side of the
whale to be darker and the right side to
remain brighter so set the clone to -
registered reduce the opacity a little
before that let's do that - 70 now I'll
click with the control key here on this
layer now select the top layer turn it
on and I'll start painting over the left
side of the whale and make a darker
because we know that the Sun is coming
from the right
now something else here I like the
shadow of this bottom layer and I want
to remove the shadow of the top layer so
do that with the brush tool on the layer
mask
think a little bit more
over di there and I think we're pretty
much done we have a whale in the lake if
