I'll continue with gimp 2.8 preferences
there will be a few more videos about
preferences and then I'm going to move
on to the tools I already covered them
in my GIMP 2.6 tutorials but I'm going
to redo them because there have been
some changes in the options and also
there is a new tool if you are in a
hurry you can find the Kim 2.6 tutorials
on these tools in my beginner's guide
playlist now let's move on to the edit
menu and select preferences the next
step is input devices I don't recommend
messing around these settings just leave
them the way they are the only time you
may need to come here and adjust the
settings is if you are using a drawing
pad and for those of you who don't know
drawing pad is an external device that
you can hook up to your computer then
you can add it in GIMP and you can use
it to create digital artwork because
drawing when a mouse is very difficult
it's almost impossible to create
realistic artwork so if you do buy a
drawing pad you can come here to input
controls it will probably be detected
over here in available controls
unfortunately I don't have one and I can
show you exactly how it's going to
appear but it will probably be here then
you can select it and use this arrow to
add it to active controls and then over
here you can select it and adjust the
settings for the input control and here
you see we have the main keyboard but
again I don't recommend touching these
settings at all when it comes to Mouse
in keyboard in gimp 2.8 there has been a
huge improvement in pain dynamics you
can go to the Windows menu dark about
dialogues and you can select pain
dynamics the dialogue will appear over
here then you can click on this option
to create new dynamics and you see that
there is a lot of options here a lot of
them will work only with a drawing pad
for
like pressure so with these settings
custom brushes and drawing pad you can
create some really cool digital artwork
