hi in this video I'll show you a very
quick and easy way to create a
checkerboard graphic using gimp 2.8
first thing we need to do is to create a
new image so let's go to the file menu
choose new and I'm going to select one
of the templates this one click ok then
I'll go to tools and choose this option
GE GL operation then from here I'm going
to select checkerboard and you see that
instantly we got a checkerboard and from
the dialog here we can control the size
of the squares for example let's change
them to 50 pixels you see how easy is to
create a checkerboard with this tool all
you need to do next is to click OK to
apply this but before that let's see
what other options we have here we also
can change the color of the squares by
clicking here for example we can make
these red instead of white
we can also change the other color too
for example wool another thing we can do
with this too is to create stripes for
example if I want vertical stripes I'm
going to change the height here to 600
pixels which is actually the height of
the image so if I do this you see now we
have vertical red and blue stripes and
if I want these to be horizontal I'm
going to change height back to 50 pixels
and width I'm going to change to 800
pixels which is the width of the project
and you see now we have horizontal
stripes so you see how fast and easy is
to create these simple graphics with
