it's going on everybody today we are
doing how to play flash track number
nine from the cartoon album where things
get pretty serious and believe it or not
this is slightly down-tuned it's in drop
D and I don't even know if drop D
technically counts as a down tuning but
whatever anyway it kind of sounds like
this

but what about me still and a growing
nest around me and a flash I was here
and the batter than I I'll be gone just
as quickly so it's kind of a finger pick
thing and again it's on nylon originally
but I dream because of the inlays and
stuff like that here and basically just
like I said drop these the low E string
and tune down to it to you and it starts
to just kind of you can think of it as a
D suspended to shape right so I've got
my middle finger on to G a my pinky on
3b and then what I'm doing is I've got
my thumb in that low D string and then
my pointer middle and ring finger are
getting the d g/b kind of raking it off
alright so kind of like so it's a rake
on the first time and I'm going back up
CD and then
so it's kind of like the same movement
but in a slightly different timing
pattern okay so it's really hard to play
with the pic I really recommend finger
style for this one but uh then after
this I've got my middle finger on to e
you're going to call the earring evil is
chandu d the pewdie and ring finger is
still on to G will it go to qu g and
then I'm going to do the same thing on
the third fret right so we've got the
first part with the D chord the Q and
again just kind of like now my fingers
are e a d g so I do one kind of arpeggio
just to e a B G and D then I'm going to
head the e string slide two three hit
the chord and the root again so
I'm gonna go
this is Atkins not a C so 3a 55 G and
I'm still getting the first lowest for
strength right so the same kind of
strumming thing the rake back dat and
I'm gonna go semi tone down to B then up
here this shape right here is pretty
cool I've got a middle finger on the 8th
fret of the E string and my ring finger
is on the g string still but now instead
of having them in line it's going down
to nice try so same kind of pattern that
that's kind of like that the groove of
the song right and then after the first
one area yeah so at the end of the first
one I'm going my ring finger from 9 to
my index finger to 7 so one
right there into it's kind of like the
melody of the song right so it says
everything's open into 5g so twice 75
that gets the whole thing again the
whole intro Russia Part C Part B I'm
here okay and that kind of goes on a
couple times in a row and then
eventually we get into this other part
that goes up to here it's kind of like
the instrumental part but anyways if you
think of just lining up that shape again
it's the 12th fret on low E string in E
and G 12 so 10 to 13 but we're raising
that 1/2 1/2 step to 14 right so 12 to
10 to 13 with the raised one then 12 to
10 6 7 and then back to the other four
muted here with a trap then again where
we changed this one
five to seven again here a little very
last time we're going to do the same
thing that we did where we change this

but instead of coming back to it we're
going to raise it
and what this does kind of create
detention to get to though so I think
I'm gonna do that part on acoustic even
though this is like where the electric
comes in just kind of keep it simpler
but yeah basically so the whole sushi
part I'll go through one more time like
this

then we're getting to the heavy
drop-d stuff a machine you take to this
one if I played it in song yeah
basically
uh we got a couple guitars going on
double track and the first one is just
very simple heavy awesome if I just one
of the music man but it's all just kind
of open drop the power power chords so
it starts with open twice or yeah open
twice him into 12 twice though and then
ten twelve and twelve there we go open
three three open three five three

that time it goes ten to nine now the
other guitar is doing this especially
the same thing just a different position
to kind of get a different tone I guess
and it's a little muted so this is the E
string which is the DIA to the octave D
which is five a three five that open
three three three but three and that's
what the seed will be again then we get
into the verse which is essentially the
same music and melody as we played a
little bit differently and sung an
octave higher so if that's something
you're interested in like songwriting
wise a cool thing to maybe build a
dynamic is to start singing one melody
and a lower register and then as a
building it can get higher right so the
chords for that sound like this it's
just a regular D minor border
so I'll do it in the plane a D minor and
pulling off the high E string F to e so
and then after that I'm just kind of
abandoning the cord I've got an open
string set except for QB and a three
alright so D minor
oh manjeong we are assembling that it
emotions just no sign of ending
which is again kind of the same thing as
before it's just I could see again but
now it's kind of played a little more
aggressively does it be the same thing
is the first bar

okay and again that part is a sign
occupier shoes like the better I'll come
swing me and so kind of builds like a
dynamic and then it goes back in about
and then after that it's kind of like a
link the guitar solo that is kind of
mimicking the emotion of the cartoon so
yes you haven't seen the song definitely
check it out I want to give any spoilers
but anyways it's a nice one out of ten
