LMMS Tutorial 5: Sidechaining with Peak Controller Video Lecture | LMMS Tutorial: Expertise Audio Editing (English) - Video & Sound Editing

hello guys this is Q Bishan and this is
a very simple tutorial in LMS on how to
create basic sidechain compression or
that pumping sound usually get in modern
electronic music um this is just really
simple for people who do not know what
compression is um and I'm still using my
simple little project of demonstration
anyway so you're going to want to go
into your beat / bassline editor select
your kick or your bass drum and you're
going to want to because it'll have this
in this little thing right here you're
going to want to go to effects okay add
effect it's right here peak controller
okay go to peak controller okay so a lot
of stuff I'm doing you're not going to
understand just do it you'll understand
it later once you have more experience
at the program go to negative three
about you might want to do some attack
in some delay Emmit decay and delay so
you have this peak controller it's right
in there effects one okay so you can
actually change these so that they're in
different effects channels and you're
going to want to change everything that
you want the sidechain compression apply
to you in effects one then you just the
slider right here you want to right
click on it do connect to controller
user controller and then it'll say
controller one because on the controller
rackets be controller but we're going to
change this to side chain controller and
then so we're going to have that connect
to the side chaining so so now that goes
down with the bass drum so
and you can mess around with the amounts
here
so you can get that nice sound effect
so now you can have this nice idea
so you can actually apply it to this one
too if you want
so that's really simple sidechaining
and it sounds great um there's more ways
to do an LMS than to use a P controller
at the peak control is the fastest
simplest and probably best sounding with
the least tweaking so um if you're
beginning into lmms and you want that
sweet pumping effect that's what you do
