acute data systems in this tutorial I'm
going to teach you how to create a code
and convert it into an order for sage
100 today we'll be covering the
following topics how to create a code
verify the code in customer maintenance
converting the code into an order and
verify the conversion let's go ahead and
take a look
price codes are entered in the same
manner as entering standard signals
order in order to create a price code
you will go in sales order module click
on mean and sales order entry task
you're immediately brought to a sales
order entry window click on the next
order number button in the order type
you will select quote over here for
customer number you can provide a price
go to a customer who is not listed in
accounts receivable so you can add the
customer on the fly while creating a
price code in this case we will be
looking up for a customer who is already
existing in the system so let's go ahead
and click on ABC tech as the customer
you will go on the address tab where you
see the bill toe and the ship to address
if no modifications are to be made in
this tab we will go to the lines tab use
this tab in order to enter the products
and services you're planning to sell to
the customer suppose ABC tech wants a
quote for 2 bike parts so we will go
ahead and look up for the item code bike
parts let's select this in the order
quantity we will put it as 2 you see the
unit price for a bike part is 20 and the
total amount for two bike parts is $40
you can see the total amount on the
right-hand side on the bottom corner the
totals tab gives you a review of the
total amount the code comes up to if any
modifications have to be made at this
point of time you can make the changes
over here if everything looks okay you
will click accept this is how you create
a quote in sales order entry in order to
verify the code that is created you will
go in accounts receivable module click
on main and click on customer
maintenance task
let's look up for the customer ABC tech
and we'll then go on to the sales order
tab you will now see that the coat is
created where the order type is quote
the order date which is the date when
the coat was created and the order
amount of $40 is displayed here click on
accept the main difference between a
coat and a sales order is that you
cannot invoice off of a coat hence you
will have to convert the coat into an
order so let's see how to convert a coat
into an order for that we'll have to go
back into sales order entry and let's
look up for the code that was created
for ABC Tech here you see the quote so
let's select that and in the order type
you will now select standard order let's
move to the address tab since we don't
want to make any changes over here we
will move on to the lines tab if you
have any changes to be made or you want
to add an item in the lines tab you can
do so but at this stage we don't want to
make any changes so we'll just go ahead
and click on accept you'll now receive a
prompt message which asks you do you
want to promote this quote to a standard
order go ahead and say yes so that is
how you convert a quote into an order in
order to verify this conversion that has
taken place you'll once again go in
customer maintenance within accounts
receivable we will look up for the same
customer ABC Tech and will once again go
back to sales order tab here you see
that the order type is now standard
order which means that the conversion
has taken place successfully and the
order amount remains unchanged which is
$40 and that's how we see how the code
has got converted into an order so go
ahead and click on accept
